ENG 1 Statutory Seafarer Medical
The ENG1 Medical is a Statutory Seafarer Medical in Accordance with Maritime and
Coastguard Agency Medical Guidelines. The ENG1 Medical provides a certificate of fitness
for seafaring and is required by Merchant Seafarers and other groups as described in the
MCA Guidelines.
ML5 Medical
The ML5 Medical is a Seafarer Medical in Accordance with Maritime and Coastguard Agency
Medical Guidelines. An ML5 seafarer medical fitness certificate to work at sea.
Swedish Seafarer Medical
Commissioned and authorized by the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs to perform
medical examinations and issue Swedish medical certificates for seafarers.
Norwegian Maritime Medical
Authorised and approved by Norwegian authorities to perform medical examinations in
accordance with the provisions of the Regulations concerning the medical examination of
employees on Norwegian ships and mobile offshore units.
Oil & Gas UK Medical
The Oil & Gas UK Medical is an offshore medical undertaken in accordance with Oil & Gas
UK (UKOG) guidelines. The UKOG medical is produced to meet the needs and requirements
of the employer.
The Oil & Gas UK Medical Certificate is required by individuals working in the offshore oil
and gas industry as proof of fitness for their particular role.
Fit To Train which may be required as part of the OGUK medical relates to the risk of using
Compressed Air Emergency Breathing Systems (CA-EBS) and is designed to ensure you are
physically fit to use these systems. There is an additional fee for this medical.
Chester Step/Exercise testing may be required by Emergency Response Team Members e.g.
fire-fighting, evacuation etc. There is an additional fee for this test.
RUK Wind Turbine Medical
The RUK Wind Turbine Medical is an offshore and onshore medical in accordance with
Renewable UK Medical Guidelines.
A RUK Wind Turbine Medical Certificate is required by individuals working on offshore,
onshore & remote Wind Turbine Installations require a Medical Certificate of Fitness as
proof of their fitness to undertake their role. The medical guidelines address the fitness
requirements of working offshore, the offshore environment, accessing installations from
seagoing vessels, other environmental factors such as extremes of temperature and also the
fitness requirements of working at height.
Previously, workers fitness for work in the Wind Turbine Industry was assessed using the
existing Seafarer (ENG1) and Offshore Medical Guidelines (Oil and Gas UK) until the
development of the Renewable UK Medical Guidelines which are specific to the Wind
Turbine Industry.
